GIFT OF TIME
multimedia installation
The title Gift of Time is borrowed from the artist residency of the same name in Roswell, New Mexico, where the work was created and first exhibited. The natural surroundings of the Roswell desert played a significant role in both the process and resolution of the piece.
The work explores patterns found in nature and applies them to human-made systems—both physical and cognitive—forming new, unexpected relationships. The marks left by an ant connect with fragments of thought; moths, drawn to light, become stars in the night sky; a girl hesitates as she observes new patterns forming around her.
Here, process and outcome hold equal weight. The work is not simply the result of a process—it is a process in itself.
