DISPLACING THE FAMILIAR
MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATION
Displacing the familiar celebrates the everyday, the casual, and the unexpected—a way of working that welcomes chance and the element of surprise. The subject of this work is a process that acts as a catalyst for thought. Quails and pheasants passing near the house each morning became constellations, and torn pieces paper became a boat in the middle of a rough sea.
“Displacing the Familiar, is about relinquishing control, about heading peacefully and fearlessly into the unknown.”—The Sydney Morning Herald
