HOMAGE TO TRUGANINI NUENONE WOMAN BRUNY ISLAND (C.A. 1812 – 1876)

Meeting—Homage to Truganini Nuenone Woman Bruny Island (c.a. 1812 – 1876) is based on the original photograph of Truganini who is perhaps the most well-known name in Tasmanian women's history. Her life epitomises the story of European invasion and the clash of two disparate cultures. This work is a reflection on Mytych’s ten year residency in Australia.
