THE BIG
LARGE FORMAT Photographs
The Big plays deliberate tricks on the viewer. At first glance, the photographs appear to depict monumental bronze sculptures. In reality, they are enlarged images of small bronzes the artist created for an earlier work titled The Small.
By enlarging the sculptures through photography and placing them in dialogue with the originals, the artist exposes qualities that are easily overlooked at their original size, demonstrating how changes in scale and presentation can alter perception—reminding us that, especially in media or memory, what is small can seem large.
This work was presented as part of the artist’s 2025 monographic exhibition at MOCAK – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Kraków.
